Spots Special: Must watch Weekend matches

As  most of the football league seasons draw closer to the end, #Profcem brings you the biggest matches you do not want to miss this weekend. 


England
On Saturday
Liverpool vs. Queens Park Rangers: Liverpool face-off against relegation threatened QPR. What makes this match important for both clubs relates to their aims for the season. Liverpool will want to pile the pressure on Man Utd for the last champion’s league spot while QPR will boost their chances against relegation with a win.
Manchester United vs. West Bromwich Albion: Man Utd will want to claim a win against a West Brom side to further solidify their place as the fourth best team in England
On Sunday
Chelsea – Crystal Palace: The biggest match this weekend due to its importance. Chelsea can win the league if they beat Crystal Palace while a draw or win for Palace will further make bookmakers stake a claim for Alan Pardew to be manager of the year.

Eden Hazard
Tottenham Hotspur – Manchester City: the second biggest match if Chelsea’s match would give them the league title. Tottenham are level on points with Liverpool and a win could put them in fifth placw while City will want to save a doomed season with a win which will keep them in second place.
Arsenal will play Hull City on Monday.



Spain
On Saturday
Cordoba – Barcelona: Barcelona will hope to repeat its superb showing against Getafe during the week on Saturday. A victory at Cordoba will move Barcelona one step closer to the La Liga title.

Barcelona will have one hand on the trophy with a win this weekend
Atletico Madrid – Athletic Bilbao: Last Season’s La Liga champions are somehow still in the race for the title despite being third and way beyond the reach of Barcelona and Real Madrid who are second.
A win will further put Atletico in the frame for another season in the Champions league.
Sevilla – Real Madrid: The toughest match this weekend. A win for Sevilla will move them above Valencia in fourth place. A win for Madrid will also close the gap on Barcelona if they win or overtake them if they lose.
Deportivo La Coruna – Villarreal: Deportivo have been poor recently and sit in the relegation places but a win will boost their survival chances provided others lose. IK Uche and his colleagues will hope Valencia and Sevilla lose so they they move up the table from sixth place.




Italy:
On Saturday
Sampdoria vs. Juventus: Juve could win the Serie A title with a win against Sampdoria who are also chasing European ambitions. This will be a tough match for Juve as Sampdoria have already proven to be giant killers this season.

On Sunday
Roma vs. Genoa: Third place Roma had performed badly in 2015 and will hope a in against a strong Genoa side will them to solidify the last champions league spot in Italy.
Atalanta vs. Lazio: Lazio are surprisingly in second place in Italy and a win against an Atalanta side led by the ever impressive German Denis will put them in a position to qualify for the champions League for the 1st time in almost 10years.
Napoli vs. AC Milan: Napoli could compound more woes on a Milan team that has hugely disappointed this season. Win/lose it wouldmake no difference for Milan but a win for Napoli led by Higuain and Rafa Benitez could push Roma to relinquish its hold on third spot. Napoli are fourth with 56points with Roma ahead with 61 points.


Germany
On Saturday
Hoffenheim vs. Borussia Dortmund: Dortmund will be buoyed by their penalty victory over Bayern Munich in the DFB Pokal semi-finals during the week. The team will also hope to finish the season on a good note and a parting gift for their legendary coach, Jurgen Klopp.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. Bayern Munich: The biggest match this week despite Bayern Munich already confirmed as champions of Germany. Leverkusen is in fourth place fighting for a champion’s league spot.

France
On Saturday
Lyon vs. Evian Thonon Gaillard: Lyon play Evian hoping to keep the pressure on PSG who they trail by three points.
On Sunday
Lille vs. Lens: Vincent Enyeama and his Lille side have greatly disappointed a few this season. They will hope to overcome an impressive Lens to reach Europa league places. Lille are eighth on the table.

Monaco vs. Toulouse: Big spenders, Monaco are finishing the season strongly and a win against Toulouse will solidify their hold on the last champion’s league spot in France.
Nantes vs.  Paris Saint Germain: PSG will not be chamopions this weekend if they win but they will sure have one hand on the trophy. Their closest rival is Lyon who are three points behind them with 68.


Nigeria (Nigerian Premier Football League, NPFL)
On Sunday
Giwa FC vs. Bayelsa  United: Giwa are top of the leave with 11 points after six games and a win will continue to give club hope it can win its 1st league title.
Heartland vs. Sunshine Stars: Sunshine are fifth with 10 points while Heartland are seventh with 9 points and two games in hand. A win for the Sunshine of Akure will could move them to top of the log depending on results elsewhere.

Ifeanyi Uba United (Gabros FC) vs. Enyimba: The biggest match this weekend as third place Gabros face-off against two time champions league winners (Enyimba FC). Both teams are separated by just one point with Enyimba on 11 and Gabros on 10.
