Bereaved Man Accuses Jonathan Of 'Killing' His Pregnant Daughter

Bereaved  Mr Ojo Babafemi Andrews, has written an open letter to  president Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of ‘killing’ his pregnant daughter.

The outgoing president Goodluck Jonathan has by the virtue of his empowering miscreants who go by the name Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) sent me and my family into a deep mourning since last Wednesday. The president by the unconstitutional empowerment of the ethnic militia which has through their clashes with pipeline vandals killed so many innocent Nigerians particularly in Arepo area of Ogun State.

My daughter, Oluwadimilola Adebimpe Fajana -Née Ojo was killed in cross fire while driving back home after a hard day job.Damilola was a 26 years old pregnant lawyer. She was a graduate of the University of Ado Ekiti (EKSU). President Jonathan is linked to her the death by the reason of his patronage of people who have no basic training in arms and weaponry in the business of pipeline protection, which is a very dangerous security enterprise supposed to fall under the purview of the trained Nigerian security agencies.

President Goodluck Jonathan is culpable of the death of Damilola Fajana and that of others by the virtue of his morbid desperation for political power which led him to awarding thus senseless contract of his to OPC in return for political support in Lagos State.

He is equally guilty of my daughter’s death by his withdrawing the trained security personnels, the police, the army and the civil defense corps from doing their constitutional duties of protecting Nigerian people and their properties and replacing them with untrained miscreants by the name of OPC

President Jonathan’s hands are soiled by the blood of my daughter by his promoting ethnic militias groups which rubbished our established security system and allow armed thugs and touts to go after pipeline vandals in a high density civilian area in an unorganized manner. He has by this shown that he has lost confidence in the Nigerian security system.

Jonathan’s actions and inactions has directly led to the death of Mrs Oluwadimilola Fajana Née Ojo and many other innocent Nigerians who were lawful and obedient people going about their lawful businesses.

My take on this is that President Jonathan has openly displayed an undying hunger for political powers but pretending to be meek and humble, but thank God that Nigerians have not failed in seeing this by voting him out in the last month presidential election.

It is my hope that the incoming General Buahari’s administration, will revoke this obnoxious and misplaced pipeline contract, and restore peace and normalcy back to Arepo and it’s environment.

This can only be done by returning the Nigerian security agencies back to the area. This will stop the current bloodletting and unnecessary blood shedding of innocent Nigerians, just because a desperate man like Dr Jonathan wants to win elections.

By this, the death of my pregnant daughter Mrs Damilola Fajana Née Ojo, my unborn grandchild, and that of others will not go unsung.

It is my hope also that the Ogun State government, will institute a probe panel into this notorious and inhuman killing and maiming of innocent Nigerians resident in Ogun State all in the name of protecting petrol pipe lines.

As for Dr Jonathan, I will not curse but will not also pray but all I will say is that God will judge him accordingly if his decision of arming ethnic militias has done more harm to the Nigerian people than good. And to his co-travelers in the business of looting and killing Nigerians in the name of protecting pipelines, may peace and hamony be strangers in their homes just like they did to my home over the avoidable killing of my meek and promising daughter whose light they extinguished in her prime.

May the good Lord grant Barrister Damilola Adebimpe Fajana Née Ojo and other innocent Nigerians who were victims of President Jonathan and his OPC killer contractors eternal rest and our families the fortitude to bear the loss.

The Punch reports that the APC chieftain and the party’s senatorial candidate for the Akwa Ibom North-West senatorial district, Chief Inibehe Okori, said yesterday that the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, will shock critics with his pronouncements on May 29.

Speaking in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, Okri said that Buhari would prove to Nigerians and the international community that corruption can be checked as soon as the president-elect begins work.
He said, “Unlike other presidents who were not prepared for leadership but foisted on the country by individuals and interest groups, the President-elect has consistently presented himself to the electorate to lead the country on four occasions and had his visions well enunciated.
“Buhari is taking over government on May 29 and from that day, I expect that he will make major pronouncements that will position Nigeria for greatness. This country must have a direction and move in the way it should. We don’t have any reason to be poor. We have no reason to remain the way we are – not after earning more than $50bn annually from oil and gas.”
He also explained that although the expectations of the people from the incoming administration were high, Nigerians might need to calm down because “Rome was not built in a day.” He said that within the period of one year of Buhari’s presidency, the international perception about the country would change and Nigeria would regain her rightful place in the comity of nations.

He also cried out about the degrading state of the Uyo-Afaha-Nkan-Nkwot- Nnung-Ukum Road which had remained an eyesore. He regretted that the people of Ikono were made to suffer untold hardship from “a government that claimed it had already completed the road at the cost of N26.4bn in the 2014 budget.”

Minister of finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Minister of agriculture, Dr Akinwumi Adesina and others have been summoned by the House of Representatives over alleged N21billion rice importation tax evasion scam.

According to Vanguard, the ministers and 25 rice importers are expected to explain to the lawmakers how over N21bn tax was evaded despite the provision of subsidy by the Federal Government to the importers.

It was also reported the whole rice importation exercise was grossly abused by the importers and laced with fraud.
Many of the importers were also accused of evading tax after receiving huge subsidies from the government.
The Nigeria Customs Service was also summoned to explain why tax duties was never collected from the importers in question.
A source involved in the investigation told Vanguard: “We’ll unravel those government officials who aided these economic saboteurs and ensure that all the tax they cornered is returned to government coffers.
“The adhoc committee set up by the House will also ensure that they are speedily prosecuted.
“We’ve also discovered that those who got subsidy were the ones that even evaded tax more than those that did not get a dime from government”.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala  has in recent time come under criticism for alleged mismanagement of Nigeria’s  economy.
In February, former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Chukwuma Soludo, claimed that at least N30 trillion of Nigerian money has either been stolen, diverted or unaccounted for in the last few years under her watch

The Punch reports that President Jonathan has on Thursday questioned the results of the March 28 presidential election, saying “the Peoples Democratic Party couldn’t have got those kinds of scores” it had in some places.


Jonathan said, “The problem is not whether we lost the elections, that is history, but how do we consolidate our party and move forward? If we are committed and we work hard, definitely the PDP will bounce back. The PDP is still the dominant party. If you look at the results, the difference is just 2.5 million votes and if you look at the areas where it is perceived that the PDP scored so low, the PDP couldn’t have got those kinds of scores but the elections are over, so the country first.
“It is not as if Jonathan alone made the sacrifice, it is all of us. I made the pronouncement but some of us are paying the price. Some people pay more price than I do, I know how some of you are already being persecuted and the kind of situation facing you. The key thing is that we must continue to unite, as a party; we must continue to work hard so that as we go into subsequent elections in 2019, 2023 and so on and so forth, the PDP will continue to come up strong. Even in the interest of the nation, we need the PDP.
“I still believe, though we have lost presidential election, some National Assembly elections, governorship elections especially in the North, the PDP is still the dominant party. Let us not judge the PDP by the results of the elections for the presidential election. Our duty is to go back and identify areas of challenges so that the party will come up strong and play the role as a very strong party. The PDP is still the most organised party, is still the party that is not owned by anybody, is still the party that whatever you are, you can get to any level with your competencies and so on.”

President Jonathan has also told the pdp defectors that they will return with empty stomachs since APC will first settle their party members before remembering the PDP defectors and that by then the food may have finished. However, he urged all the faithful party members to remain committed to the PDP, adding that even if it was difficult in the beginning, their aim would be achieved eventually. The president said, “I encourage members of our party to remain loyal to the party; not to be so disillusioned because we lost presidential election and decide to go where they think they will fill their stomachs or something. It is not easy. I have been here for five years plus, you hardly satisfy even 15 per cent of those who work for you.
“So, those people running and those already cross-carpeting, they will come back on an empty stomach because they will touch the primary members of their party before they get to them. They know you are coming because you are hungry; and before it will get to you, the food will be gone. So, let us be committed to the party, yes we will have challenges at the beginning but surely we will get to where we want to be.”
The President has also said that his congratulating the president elect was a step he tok on behalf of the PDP.
“Yes, I did not consult anybody before I made that phone call (to Buhari) but I made that phone call on behalf of all of you and on behalf of the PDP, “ he said.
Jonathan likened the 2015 elections to the nation’s civil war, saying people would give different accounts of the event depending on the angle from where they were reporting.
However, he said that because of his privileged position, he knew about the elections more than any other person. He said the most important thing was not about his electoral loss, but the need to consolidate the party and move forward. He said, “The issues of this 2015 elections will be similar to the civil war because different people gave different accounts of the civil war.
“The first book on civil war that I read was ‘My Command’ by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, which is his perspectives on what he saw and observed. I recall (Chukwuemeka) Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s own was ‘Because I’m Involved.’ I know that the issues of the 2015 general elections, may be after few years when political scientists will write, we will get different perspectives.
“If you ask the various observer groups, each will give you a different perspective. Even among ourselves whenever we talk sometimes I laugh when people draw some of their analysis but by my privileged position, I know a little more about the elections than others.
“But the key thing is not whether we lost or won but that Nigeria as a nation must move forward. Political parties can only thrive when there is peace and stability in the country. If there is military intervention all the parties will disappear.”

The president further encouraged the members saying that despite the loss that the PDP had suffered in all the elections, it remained the dominant party in the country. He also expressed joy that countries that brought ships to Nigeria and were waiting to evacuate their citizens in case post-election crisis broke out did not have any reason to do so.
Attributing the PDP’s loss to conspiracies and betrayals from people trusted by the party chiefs, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, said, “There is a lot to be done. We need a very vibrant and strong party that can stand in as a strong opposition party; a party that can stand well in the next election. That party has to be put in place now. I believe that we are on the right path.”
Senator Ali said the lessons learnt from the elections would be used to wrest power from the APC in 2019. He said it was sad that the PDP lost despite all the energy it put into the electioneering. He also said the report would provide a road map for the PDP to move forward. Ali described the campaigns in the 36 states of the federation as largely successful except for a few incidents in some states.

Following the intensifying the contest for the Senate presidency, 64 ranking and new senators-elect have met yesterday in Abuja.
They expressed support to the ex Kwara state governor, senator Bukola Saraki, for the post of Senate president.
The commendation came as ex Vice-President Atiku Abubakar yesterday said the chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was working hard to harmoniously resolve the intense tussle over the zoning of main offices of the National Assembly.

The senators in support of Saraki, who is from the North-central geopolitical zone, had decided to toss their weight behind the former Kwara governor because they want a “Senate president who is a product of the members and not imposed by a godfather.”
According to a source, those present at the meeting included 19 senators elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and 45 from the APC.

The source said those that attended the meeting comprised Senators Muhammad Adamu Aliero, Danjuma Goje, Andy Uba, Mohammed Ali Ndume and Gilbert Nnaji.
Others comprise Dino Melaye and Isiaka Adeleke, who have just won poll to the senate, the three senators introducing Delta state and two from Edo State, among others.
The notice gathered, is meant at awkward attempts by the APC to zone the Senate presidency to the North-east geopolitical zone, and efforts by the National Leader of the party Bola Tinubu, to impose Senator Ahmed Lawan, his preferred candidate from Yobe State, as Senate president.

However, Atiku, who was in a closed-door meeting with the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, for almost an hour, told reporters that the changes that the incoming APC government means to bring into governance will not happen overnight but will be a continuing process.
The APC chieftains had in the last two weeks been struggling with the matter of zoning of principal offices to be engaged by the party in the National Assembly with different shareholders pushing for their interests.

“The lives, safety and well-being of all citizens of Borno ‎are of equal importance to me. I celebrate this news about the rescue with so much excitement in a manner I would celebrate when the military succeeds in freeing the Chibok schoolgirls are very dear to me. I was so full of excitement, gratitude to God almighty ‎and commendation to our gallant armed forces for this great humanitarian feat. For me, the lives, safety and welfare of all citizens of Borno State are of equal importance.

These rescued women are daughters, sisters and perhaps also mothers whose lives are important not just to their loved ones but also to me as Governor of Borno State whose mandate is to cater for the welfare of all those living in any part of Borno State regardless of who they are, their faith, gender, age, geopolitical origins and other background elements. They are important to us and words cannot explain how pleased we are.
We are very particular about Chibok schoolgirls because of the peculiar manner in which they were kidnapped and how that kidnapped has redefined the Boko Haram insurgency. The Chibok schoolgirls are very dear to my heart because they were kidnapped while they were in school. Their kidnap is very symbolic because their kidnappers are opposed to western education especially female education.

The entire world especially myself, is desperate about the rescue of the Chibok schoolgirls in order not to allow the ideology held by the insurgents to thrive and to encourage education which is the foundation of any human or society that seeks to develop. However, this rescue is also very dear to me. I am as pleased as much as I would be when the Chibok schoolgirls are rescued by the special grace of God. I am very optimistic, prayerful and supportive of the military’s ongoing rescue and counter insurgency operations.
We won’t give up on the Chibok schoolgirls like I said two weeks ago. No sane parent gives up on a missing child. I have daughters and I know the love of a parent to the girl child. For now, it is better to allow the military handle things, conduct their investigations and ascertain the identity of those rescued but irrespective of the identity of the girls, we are very happy they have been rescued whether they are citizens of Borno or anywhere else.

I kindly urge the media to refer to the military for updates on the matter so that there are no mix-ups at any point. I kindly call on all citizens of Borno and other fellow Nigerians to pray for our armed forces and volunteers to succeed so that good will triumph over evil. We have abiding faith in God that he will see us through these times and we shall overcome the temporary but traumatic moment of grief. God will set Chibok girls and all Nigerians free from fear and the brutality of Boko Haram Insurgents and others in their league.”
